Submitting your feeds to blog and rss directories is a task for the obsessive blogger with either insomnia or plenty of time to dedicate to this tiresome, repetitive, sanity-breaking task. You have a feed but if nobody is reading it, not one person is subscribing to it, you might as well consider it like trying to make water wet: it's absurd. Remember the question about if a leaf falls in the middle of the dessert and there isn't a witness for miles, it just never happened? Same thing, or was it a twig? Well anywho, it doesn't really matter at all. I'm sure your content is one of a kind and even if it isn't, if it's duplicate or rewritten you want at least someone other than yourself to read it. If you are hoping for people to click on your ads, or just awaiting to seduce an affiliate to partner with, exposure to the most places is fundamental. The web is growing exponentially and each second that passes by implies greater efforts to make ripples out there.You will find that info highlighted on every website tips places you come across. Hurry up time's a-wasting! But you can do something about it. You can submit your blog to all existing directories out there one by one, and believe me, you will eventually feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. Some of these directories even look like the next and if it's 3 a.m in the morning you might start to hallucinate as the screen waves up on you and will wonder "Have I been here before?" Yeah well unless you PAY for those automatic massive submission services you will have to take baby steps towards sending your rss feed, and blog or website address manually to each of these directories one by one for FREE. You should notice an increase in traffic and subscribers after you have submitted your blogs or sites and they pass approval. Sometimes you don't get approved because of certain specific guidelines of a directory but it doesn't necessarily mean your site isn't ravishing. They probably have robots analyzing the submissions and we everybody knows robots are criteria-free duh! Remember that it is not necessary to have the most original content in the world(it's all been invented by now...probably), but that the key factor for attracting subscribers and readers is the way you present this content and the use the person can make of it upon encountering it.
It never hurts to give away free stuff. Take my mother for example, she'd take a blow to the face if they told her it was FREE. We all love freebies tra la la!
